🤦♂️ Apple just crushed itself
New iPad announcement trailer sparks backlash.
TLDR; Apple recently announced their new iPad device lineup with an ad showcasing various creative objects being "crushed” into the form factor of an iPad. This was meant to highlight the, to date, thinnest Apple device ever but instead sparked massive backlash among the creative community.
👉 What the fact?!
Apple's recent advertisement for the iPad Pro, titled "Crush," has sparked a significant backlash from the creative community.
The ad, which was intended to showcase the iPad Pro's capabilities in handling professional-grade art tools and materials, in what is to date the thinnest device they have ever produced, instead came across as distasteful to many viewers.
Critics argue that the ad's depiction of art supplies being literally crushed under the weight of the iPad Pro sends a negative message, suggesting that traditional artistic methods are obsolete in the face of digital alternatives.
This interpretation has led to a vocal outcry on social media, where many artists and creatives have expressed their disappointment and frustration with Apple's approach

🔥 Potential impact
The most obvious impact is the growing distance between Apple and one of its core audiences; creative professionals.
The distance is coming as audiences keep asking for features that would boost their productivity and improve their professional life, but is largely dismissed in products feature development.
An example and most commonly requested is the need for longer battery life. Something that could have easily been achieved had Apple not decreased the thickness of the iPad device.
This all leads to users being concerned that Apple is more interested in shareholder valuations and stockprices rather than what its users actually need.
However, while users have growing pains over using Apple devices, the reality is quite harsh; there isn’t much of a choice.
Apple devices, like it or not, are one of a kind.
There are no other devices from other companies with the same capabilities and form factor.
So the most likely outcome is that things will remain the same. Apple continues releasing products, users are outraged, but still buys the products.
Maybe there’ll be a change, but only time will tell.
